Clark Color Labs Free Shipping and 50% off enlargements

If you're like me, then you love taking pictures. Well, back in the day we all used film. Now, most of us use digital cameras. I love having a digital camera because I take so many bad pictures. Really, it saves me a lot of money not having to develop all of the pictures I wouldn't want anyway. In any case, this morning I got an email from Clark Color Labs about a promotion they are running. Right now you can get 50% off any enlargements and Free Shipping on orders of $30 or more. Woohoo!!! I just got back from a trip to Ohio where I took about a hundred pictures of my new nephew. I got a lot of great shots I had planned on having printed in various sizes so this is the perfect time for a promo like this pass to across my desk. Also, you have to think ahead. Christmas will be here before you know it and pictures make great gifts. The code you'll need is: SAVEBIG9C With the promo code the picture prices are great. I don't personally know how much shipping is if you don't spend $30 so you'll have to decide for yourself based on your needs whether this is the deal for you or not.

If you are only looking for 8x10 enlargements you may want to consider shopping at Kodak this week. They are currently offering a 50% discount off their professional grade prints (8x10 only) so the pictures are a little more than CCL, but they are also offering free shipping on orders over $4.99. That's not too bad. You would need to order three prints to get free shipping. It may or may not be worth your while. The Kodak code is: PRO50

I Heart Faces Week 9 Creative Cropping

It's week nine already and the theme for week nine is creative cropping. I had so much fun with this. It is absolutely amazing how you can transform a picture by cropping it. I had such a hard time choosing pictures for this week. Every picture takes on a new personality when you crop it. My entry for the "kids" selection is a picture of my daughter I took in the park last year. I just love how when I zoomed in on her all of her little freckles came out. I think this particular crop looks so thoughtful.

I'm also entering the adults category this week. I haven't yet but I thought it might be fun. My selection for the adults category is a picture of sister-in-law Kari. She's absolutely beautiful and amazingly photogenic. She has such fine features and I wanted to draw those out.

Wednesday Winners Giveaway 3/4

It's time for Wednesday Winners giveaway over at Blog Stalkers Unite!!! Yeah. I thought it might be fun to enter and do my own little giveaway.

Today I'm giving away one digital layout in the size and theme of your choice. I used to digital scrapbook quite often and then along came our third child. Though I've had lots of inspiration, I've had little time to be inspired. I won't limit the number of pictures to be used in the layout but I can't promise that all of them will be used either. The finished file will be sent to you in a printable format for framing or putting in your favorite album. To enter please leave a comment below with your favorite money saving tip. Winner will be announced next Wednesday!!! Have fun.

Just a few examples of my work:

Bonus opportunity: Find the mistake with this first layout and I'll throw in a second layout as well:)

I Heart Faces Kids Week 8 Messy

Well, it's that time again. I didn't win last week and that's okay. There were some beautiful pictures submitted and I don't know how the judges could possibly choose from such fabulous talent.

Week 8 is here and the theme is "messy." With three kids we've got a lot of those kind of pictures. I decided to use one of Ben's first birthday pictures. I'm sure it's probably rather cliche but I love babies covered in birthday cake. This picture was taken after he was all done eating and was just winding down. He was so tired and pensive and just a cutie. Here's my little smurf:

I Heart Faces Kids Week 7 Black and White

While this may seem a bit off topic for my blog, I've decided to use my blog for this avenue as well. I've been in love with photography for years and it's my hope one day to be able to do it for compensation....though I have a long way to grow. In the meantime, IHeartFaces.com has a weekly contest featuring different themes and I'd like to take part in the fun. So, without further ado, here's my entry for week 7:

If you're interested in seeing my runner-up photos click here. It was a tough choice for a mom who loves taking pictures of her kids.

If you love looking at great photos please take a minute to stop by the site and check out the other entries:)
